Ordinary people, an extraordinary God.

All About Us

All About Us

In 2012, we sold everything—our dream home, two successful businesses—and left the United States for the mountains of Guatemala. We didn’t come with a grand strategy.

We came with open hands and obedience.

Since then, God has taken our “yes” and written a story we never could have imagined.

  • We established a middle school to give boys in our village a chance at education.
  • We feed the underprivileged and help provide medical attention to the most desperate.
  • In 2018, we adopted four children who had been stuck in an orphanage. Five years later, we learned they had a sibling—she came home to us last month.

We’re now a family of nine children. Four are married and live in the States, and five are with us in Guatemala.

Over the last decade, Vonda and I have poured our lives into this work, partnering with pastors committed to transforming lives through the gospel.

God’s taken me places I never imagined—some of them pure adventure.

  • I summited Capitol Peak, one of the most dangerous of Colorado’s 14ers.
  • Vonda and I climbed and camped on Volcán Acatenango, the third highest peak in Central America.
  • I completed the Goggins Challenge, running 48 miles in two days—nearly the distance of two marathons.
  • I've grabbed an alligator by the tail, swum with sharks, and explored the Mayan ruins of Tikal.

But nothing could have prepared us for the last 13 years—life in Guatemala, adoption, ministry, and seeing God move in ways bigger than anything I could plan.
